June has been a busy month at Holly Cottage Studio, heading off with two OPEN weekends of NYOS followed by Scagglethorpe Open Gardens.

I would like to thank everyone who made it down to the bottom of the garden, despite the inclement weather; delighting me with your enthusiasm and interest in my work; thank you particularly to those who purchased a piece of work, I hope that the pieces bring you much enjoyment.

The Boundary Way Project

A couple of current poems devised as a result of participation in Boundary Way Writers Group.

Boundary Way Writers Group, is an inclusive gathering of writers of all abilities. The Group emerged from the Boundary Way Project during the Covid 19 lockdown with an aim to help people connect both with each other and nature, meeting via zoom, to share and write poetry.
I am not sure which garden path I have gone down to find myself part of this group, however the way has connected me more strongly with the writing I have always done, I have met and heard new voices, and enjoyed sharing with others from various areas of the British Isles and afar, settling myself into my new location on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds.
Boundary Way Project was Founded in 2015 by creative producer Moya Lloyd and based at the allotments and community Garden in Warstones, Wolverhampton, they work with a collective of artists and educators who forge links locally and across the UK, creatively exploring natural heritage, biodiversity and the unique qualities of allotments.

Lijiang Studios, Yunnan.

Artist Residency. 2019

I was fortunate in being invited to Lijiang Studio during the summer of 2019, this charitable organisation has an international residency programme located in a rural farming village of South Western China. I was there for just over a month, not long, yet long enough to leave a deep impression on me. Returning the Rhododendron, follows this journey of exchange.

A preview exhibition presenting an artwork from each of the artist participating in Ryedale Open Studios.

Runs from 21st July to 17th September 2023 10am – 4pm.
